Oh yeah, this is why.
My ovaries are exploding because I will never carry his future children.
I have no regrets.

Hope I didn’t speak too soon
My eyes have always followed you around the room
Cause you’re the only God that I will ever need
I’m holding on and waiting for the moment to find me
If I Had A Gun | Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds
From once upon a Shangri-La,
How I often wonder where you are
Suck it and See | Arctic Monkeys
I remember this song like I remember the snow. And the cold. And the winding drive up the mountain to reach the cabin that we should have arrived at 10 hours ago, all while listening to your playlist because you wanted to make me a mix cd, but we’re too 21st century to actually use CDs, although you loved those vinyl records which eventually grew on me, that slowly became integrated into my life as though it were my own. I returned those vinyls the moment we ended. Like I returned your t-shirts. Your flowers. Your artwork. Your presents. There were no refunds for the promises.
This song though - mmm no this song, I kept for myself.
We only said goodbye with words
I died a hundred times

I can still remember when your city smelt exciting.
I still get a whiff of that aroma now and then.
Burglary and fireworks, the skies, they were alighting.
Accidents and toffee drops and thinking on the train.
Oh, he was young in the frost
No regard for the cost of saying his feelings in the moment they were felt
And if he was calm like you
Locked up inside of your loops then he’d know for well
That all he had to say was, all he had to say was goodbye
